Hancock Holding boosting health of Gulfport medical sector

GULFPORT, Miss. — Hancock Holding Co. is beefing up its presence in the Delta area in response to a booming medical sector, centered in Gulfport. Hancock Bank announced earlier this week that it will be building a new office in the epicenter of Mississippi’s increased presence in the health care market.

In response to a booming medical sector in Gulfport, Hancock Holding Co. is opening a lending office in Nashville.

The bank plans to expand its presence in the Gulf South Market with the opening of a loan market office as it expands to meet the needs of the greater Nashville area’s evolution as an attractive destination for health care companies.

Nashville is already home to more than 300 health care companies, and the current trends suggest this number will continue to increase as the city becomes increasingly more attractive to health care companies and entities that support them.

This move brings some of the top of Nashville’s health care bankers and lenders into Hancock’s 100 year-old organization. Hancock already operates banking and lending in healthcare sectors including Hattiesburg, Mobile as well as Pensacola and Jacksonville, Florida.
